I note that most companies say your DMV record ';may'; be checked, and disqualify renters for reckless driving convictions within 36 months.
Do they always check, or is this just a threat?
Also, are there any companies out there more tolerant of those with prior reckless driving convictions?Do rental car companies always check your record? Do any allow prior reckless driving convictions?
I have rented several cars and have never had mine checked.Do rental car companies always check your record? Do any allow prior reckless driving convictions?
It seems to me that they wouldn't worry about your record, as they have your credit card, your ins agent's #, and your signed promise to make it good if you screw up their car. PLUS, they are (probably) insured well enough to cover any losses that you OR your ins don't pay.
They always check. Why would they knowingly rent a brand new car to someone who is an obvious high risk.
