Do they have gps trackers on rental cars?

Say on a whim i am out of town with my rental car, i am covered with the insurance for a stolen car, and my rental ends up getting stolen. Would the rental car company be able to gps track the car down? Or would the police just have to handle the matter?Do they have gps trackers on rental cars?
Some do -- I heard of a case last year in California (where else?) where a woman rented a vehicle and didn't declare on the agreement that she would take the vehicle out of state, (Nevada, for about 12 hours). When she returned her rental car they, in turn, presented her with a bill for over eight hundred additional dollars (which, by the way, they had already deducted from her credit card). There was a clause in the contract, in very small print, that stated that the driver/renter must declare beforehand to the rental agency if the vehicle would be driven out of state. They knew because the car was equipped with a hidden GPS tracking device. FYI - the device also recorded her speeds...

From now on I will be sure to ask about this whenever I rent a car.Do they have gps trackers on rental cars?
Some rental cars are ';LOW_JACKED';

Some rental cars have ';ON STAR';

Both of these allow for the vehicle to be traced using G.P.S.
Your personal insurance will cover the theft of a rental car. You can opt to NOT USE your insurance and pay extra to buy insurance directly from the Rental Agency.

Either way you're covered.

Some rental cars have GPS on the more expensive (per day) ones. If they give you a Neon, forget it. That thing won't have nothing.
Hertz and HLE have the device on some of their cars.....not all agencies have caught on.
