Going to NYC for the first time. Need to know of affordable motels and rental cars that not advertised?

In my local area there are motels which are clean and affordable that are not advertised. I am sure there are those likewise in the local area.Going to NYC for the first time. Need to know of affordable motels and rental cars that not advertised?
Housing in NYC is expensive. The local motels are all going to be a bit dodgy, especially any rooming houses in Manahattan proper. Try looking for motels and hotels outside of the city in Brooklyn and Queens, or even in NJ.





And If you are renting a car, I would compare prices of all the national car rental chains located in NJ or by an airport. Car rental is ridiculous in Manhattan.Going to NYC for the first time. Need to know of affordable motels and rental cars that not advertised?
If you're staying in the city, do NOT rent a car. You dont need one. Second, there really arent the local motels that arent advertised in NYC. Its not that way here. Everything is god awful expensive when it comes to accomodations. If you find a place for under 150 a night, you found a good deal. Enjoy your visit.





And if you do decide to rent a car, remember, parking is usually about 12 dollars an hour in a garage, or a 110 dollar parking ticket if you cant figure out our ASP signs. Dont worry, even native New Yorkers can barely make sense of them.

Unless you plan on leaving the city DO NOT rent a car. There is absolutely NO reason to have a car while staying in Manhattan. It will only cost you loads of money not only to rent but to park and you can basically get wherever you need to go by foot, subway or taxi. Good luck!
Don't rent a car in NY it is not needed there is virtually a subway station on every corner and they run all night. So don't waste your money on a car just spend it all on the hotel and go on websites like priceline where you can negotiate prices or lastminutetravel.com and the other travel website for the hotels. But i love price line because you can negotiate the price.
