Is there a deposit on rental cars when u use a credit card?

I think the guy is lying... He said there is a 20% hold when you use a credit card.. Anyone ever go through avis and what did u have to pay.. Im in ohio, clevelandIs there a deposit on rental cars when u use a credit card?

it should like 100-250 .. that they hold or charge u for upfront depending on them knowing how long ur going to keep da car .. call avis's 1800 number and ask them whats the policy..

The deposit at minimum is $250 and can go up from there depending on how long you will rent the vehicle. If you're renting on cash, the deposit is double.
