How much does it roughly cost a day to vacation in the philippines, and are rental cars easily available?

i'm planning a trip to the philippines and need to know what the average decent motel room cost per night, rental car cost per day, and cost of average meals (man i hope they have a wendy's ';dollar menu '; or else i might have to cut my vacation short). i'm just trying to get a ball park figure, being that i'm planning on staying for about a month. How much does it roughly cost a day to vacation in the philippines, and are rental cars easily available?
depends on the area you will be staying. Fair lodging $10-$25 per nite. Most place can get discount if you get by week or month. Rentals $20 plus per day same rule if get longer. Note public transportation cheap, consider. Food depends on type local cheap. U.S. Euro type cheaper then in home counties. Watch yourself many scams but can have a good time. How much does it roughly cost a day to vacation in the philippines, and are rental cars easily available?
A 3-star hotel costs P1,800/day. Per meal per day for 1 person average is P80-P200. aircon Car rental including driver %26amp; gasoline for 10 hrs use within metro manila is P5,500 (alternative is ride a taxi). you can email me if you have further queries
It depends where you plan on staying, but a decent place can cost anywhere from $12-$45 a day. Car rentals are about the same, $25 - $50 a day. The small local restaurants are much cheaper then the fast food chains. Using the motor bike cabs may be more efficient and in expensive.

Best of luck, if you have further questions e-mail me.
If your a U.S. citizen and you plan on staying in the Philippines

for over 21 days, then you will need a tourist visa which you

can obtain from a Philippines consulate or embassy.

Pricing for hotels varies depending upon location and

type of accomodations. In Manila, the hotels will be alot

pricier than a hotel somewhere in the provinces. I've

stayed at many different hotels in Manila and you can

rent a room from $20 a night up to $400 a night.

They do have Wendy's in Manila, but food at most of the

fast food chains is alot cheaper than what it is in the U.S.

There are car rental agencies in the Philippines, and their

are many independent (not Avis, Hertz, etc.) rental agencies

too. You can find alot of them at: www.buyandsellph.com .

If this is your first trip to the Philippines, then it is highly

recommended that you don't drive, even if you are a

perfect driver in the U.S. Their aren't many driving

rules in the Philippines. When renting a vehicle, it's

recommended that you rent a driver as well. Most

vehicles in the Philippines are manual transmission,

and that causes some problems for foreigners as well.
Allot depends on where you are staying. If you were here in Iloilo a night in a decent 3 star hotel is $18. A 4 star hotel will run roughly $48 a night. A decent pension house with aircon and hot water will run $10 a night.

There are allot of Jolibees, Mc Donalds and other fast food places here. The better deals are in the local BBQ places and you can eat a decent meal for under $2.

There are plenty of cabs/jeepneys to get around quickly and cheaply. A rental car is not necessary here and when you see how they drive here, I bet you wouldn't want to drive here.
I have been to the Philippines three times. The hotel price will vary. I have spent $ 90.00 a day at the Tambuli Hotel. It is a nice beach resort hotel. I would recommend buying the Lonely Planet Philippine Guide book. It has prices on hotels and restaurants. It has extreme detail on the entire country. I never rented a car there. It is very easy to take a taxi, or jeepney or motorcycle. Public transportation is widely available. Local restaurants would be cheaper than international brand name restaurants.
i am a Canadian living in the Philippines and would be happy to give you help on what you need but i will need you to email because last time i mentioned the name of my travel agent my comment was deleted and recieved nasty yahoo threats. but i can tell you depending on where you want to go you can get by on $30-50 usd a day it just depends on your style of living
