Did rental cars in the USA used to have the letter Z in the license plate? If so, why was this stopped?

VERY EASILY IDENTIFIED BY CAR JACKERS. THEY NEW THEY WOULD BE CARJACKING AN OUT OF TOWNER. THEY WOULD TAKE THE CAR AND ALL YOUR BELONGINGS. I.E- LUGGAGE AND SO FORTH.


AND YES THEY WERE CALLED Z-PLATES.Did rental cars in the USA used to have the letter Z in the license plate? If so, why was this stopped?
I've never heard of that, but of course different states might have different regulations for car rental companies.
